How to Downgrade from Windows 11 Pro, Education, or Enterprise to Windows 11 Home Without Losing Data

In certain situations, you may find the need to downgrade from Windows 11 Pro, Education, or Enterprise to Windows 11 Home. Typically, this process involves a clean install, resulting in data loss. However, this tutorial provides a workaround to perform the downgrade without losing any data.

Note: Downgrading to Windows 11 Home will lead to the loss of features exclusive to Windows 11 Pro, Education, or Enterprise editions.

Prerequisites:

Ensure you are signed in as an administrator.

Procedure:

Download the Registry File:

Save and Merge the REG File:

Save the downloaded .reg file to your desktop.

Double click/tap on the file to merge its contents.

When prompted, click/tap on “Run,” “Yes” (UAC), “Yes,” and “OK” to approve the merge.

Cleanup:

You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if desired.

Perform a Repair Install:

Follow the  instructions on performing a repair install of Windows 11.

Use a Windows 11 ISO or USB installation media from within Windows 11 (not during boot).
